Christmas Shoeboxes

For over ten years, we have been involved in making up Christmas Shoeboxes for the annual appeal. This is how it works. A child and parent cover a shoebox with fancy wrapping paper. They then fill the box with small gifts e.g. pencils, notebooks, socks, a scarf, gloves, hair clips, hair bands, sweets, a small soft toy, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.

The children in this school have been bringing in their shoeboxes since our return to school last Monday.

Today, the children from Ms. Byrne's 3rd class helped to carry the boxes from the school. Murna Lappin collected these boxes and drove them to a distribution centre where they will be checked and loaded onto trucks for orphanages, refugee camps and street children in Eastern Europe.

We had 120 boxes for the Shoebox Appeal this year. Thank you all very much. You will make a child very happy this Christmas.
