Cake Sale

The Cake Sale

In October St Columba’s National School set up an event in which our school would raise as much money as possible for three separate charities. We called it the cake sale because all of the St Columba’s students were asked if they could bring in cakes for 6th class to sell. On the morning of the cake sale 6th class were asked to dress up. The event took place in the school hall and everything for sale was arranged on different stands. These included a candy stand with jellies, lollipops, sweets and crisps, also there was a bit’s and bobs stand with miscellaneous items. The other stands had posters, DVD’s, books and cakes. There were pupils from 6th class at each stand. Each class from the school would be called one by one to the hall and had about ten minutes to buy what they wanted. The big buns were fifty cents, the small buns were twenty or thirty cents and a whole cake was two or three euro. The aim of the cake sale was to make as much money as we could for charity and in the end we raised ovr €3.000 for our chosen charities which are the Iona Arch Club and two other charities.. All of this would not have been possible without the effort and hard work of all the St. Columba’s pupils and the help from our teacher Ms. A Nolan
